The Kimberley Process

I love diamonds. I guess.... any sparkling little things. I can be so mesmirised by their shining bright beauty. To me, they are like the stars in the sky. If only i can have one in my palms...then i can have one of my wishes come true. I am still hoping and wishing to catch one of these falling stars someday.

Blood Diamonds. One of the best movie i have watched this year. I am glad that watching movie is one of my most favourite past times. Helps me to de-stress and at the same time educate me about world issues and the state of human mind which i might have missed out on in my earthly existence on this part of the world. I hope and pray that there will still be conscientious, smart, wise humanitarians in the movie industry. The world needs these people to champion our stand in moral principles. To create awareness of the state of our fallen world.

Before watching this movie, i never know there is an organisation that upholds the Kimberley Process. Never know the struggles, violence and poverty issues that's driving evil in the nations of the Africa continent. The blood that's been shed to find that one elusive rock. The tortures and pain of lives lost, robbed innocence and physical pain for the pursuit of that one tiny rock.

Movies like that affect me deeply. They bring me down on my bended knees to seek forgiveness for my selfish indulgence & things that i took for granted in life. To pray fervently & unceasingly not to forget the poor and the needy. To pray for the children who's been suffering from all kinds of abuse and evil of this world.

"But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God."
(Mark 10:5 King James Version)

"When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
(Mark 10:15 NIV Version)

Warm Springs

My first entry in 2007. Only been 5 days into the year and so much drama has unfold into my life. The recent ordeal with my beloved cousin has left excruciating pain in my heart. One thing i have learnt from my ordeal is that if i have to go through suffering and persecution to bring glory to GOD, i will do it. Endure it.

Watched a great movie today - Warm Springs.

It is a movie to inspire those who are suffering from disabilities...in life.

I have added FDR (Franklin D. Roosevelt) to my list of heroes after watching this show.

Margaret Nagle, the writer of the movie commented in an interview :"I think it's about finding yourself through suffering. Because we all suffer in this life, and some of us make it through the horrible things that happen to us - and some of us don't. My "logline" for the movie was: "What if the worst thing that ever happened to you was the best thing that ever happened to you?"

I thought, "You have this trust fund, Ivy League, playboy, who wakes up one morning - and can never walk again. And then he goes off to seek out a 'miracle cure.' And the 'miracle,' is not that he will walk again - because he won't. The 'miracle' is that - he is reborn, in his soul. And he finds out, who he really is. And so, this 'trust fund playboy' decides to run for [LAUGHTER] President of the United States. And be the first world leader who can't walk. And he runs. And he is elected - four times." And I'll never forget, pitching it like that. And the person goes, "Wow, that's a great story. Wouldn't that be incredible if it were true?" And I would say, "It is incredible... and it is true."
